Bill and I
established R & B Alpaca Ranch in 2003 with the
purchase of four Alpacas. Two bred females, and two
young males. Our mission statement is simple “Breed
For Elite Fiber”. Alpacas are a fiber-producing
member of the camel family raised exclusively for
their soft and luxurious wool. Their fleeces are
sheared off once a year. Each shearing produces
roughly five to ten pounds of fiber per animal, per
year.
Our farm is
centrally located 30 minutes from downtown Kansas
City with easy access from all major highways. Bill
owns and operates “Butler Custom Construction” and
brings to the business several years of farming
experience. My focus is on sales and marketing along
with the design and production of our line of
“Alpaca Gift Wrap”.
We are avid
horse riders and frequently take off on weekend
trail rides. There’s nothing we love more than to
set up camp and kick back to enjoy a relaxing
weekend with our equine buddies. We own several
horses, all of which are registered quarter horses.
Our farm is
small and well organized with a variety of services
to offer, and we take pride in owning some of the
finest genetic bloodlines in the Mid-West.
Bloodlines such as Caligula, Peruvian Presidio, Don
Juan, Show Me The Money, Hemingway, El Bello,
Peruvian Axtion Jaxon, and more.
So, now that
you have a little information about us, take a few
minutes to browse through our web site. It’s
designed to be your Alpaca ranch tour guide. We hope
it will stir your curiosity about Alpacas and will
intrigue you to visit us and as many other farms as
possible. Thanks for visiting!
Sincerely,
Bill and Rhonda
